Erdogan Praises Kizilay’s Global Humanitarian Role

(MENAFN) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized on Thursday that the Turkish Red Crescent, widely recognized as Kizilay, has secured a permanent place in the collective memory of communities across numerous conflict regions due to its humanitarian contributions.

"Kizilay has been etched into the memories of our brothers and sisters across our heartland through its work in Palestine, Bosnia, Afghanistan, Somalia, Iraq and Syria," Erdogan stated during the Turkish Red Crescent Awards Ceremony held in Ankara.

Focusing on the organization’s activities in Gaza, Erdogan highlighted that Kizilay has transported more than 26,000 tons of humanitarian supplies to the territory, where he said assaults by the "Zionist genocide network led by Netanyahu" persist.

He further explained that since October 7, Kizilay has provided Palestinians in Gaza with 15 million hot meals, ensuring daily food distribution to 30,000 individuals.

Erdogan reaffirmed that Türkiye will maintain its humanitarian assistance while also striving to secure justice. "Türkiye, while extending a helping hand to the oppressed, will also continue to do everything in its power to ensure that the massacre network is held accountable before the law and history," he declared.
